Now that the art deco theme is fitting together nicely with my new “old hollywood glam style” wedding dress, I now envision black lace bridesmaid dresses.
I found these gems at nordstrom.com and must get there immediately to see them in person and on a live body! (Pricing and Style Name listed under each photo)

My Original Dress - For Sale!
I bought a new wedding dress, which means my original dress is up for grabs. If you know anyone interested, please let me know! It is a size 6, which is a street size 2. It is new without tags and no alterations were made.
Please excuse the “I rolled out of bed and have no makeup on” look I am sporting in these photos.

How Do you Know the Marriage Will Last?
If you read Cosmopolitan than you will know! The article Why Marriages Fail - Confessions of a Wedding Planner goes into detail of sure tell signs a marriage is going to fail to be on the lookout for during the planning process. The article was sent over to me by a friend and I found it very interesting - definitely shareworthy!
According to her, the marriage is doomed if:
1. The bride refuses...

I Have A Confession. I Gave In!
I highjacked sister’s bridesmaid appointment to try on wedding gowns and I fell in love. I have been so flip flop about my wedding dress because it was perfect for our original plans of having a new year’s eve wedding - big, dramatic, sparkly. But now that we are getting married at a 1930’s style supper club with an art deco theme, I have been stressing about the dress matching...

Bridal Gowns - Round 2
I’ve had my wedding dress since the end of July, which was 2 weeks after my engagement. I found it at Filene’s Basement Running of the Brides in Friendship Heights during a work event for WeddingWire. For $250, it was love at first and I had to snag it before some crazy bride-to-be ripped it from my little fingers, never to be seen again. The dress is perfect. It fits like a glove...

Booking the Band - Buyer's Remorse?
I noticed that I never really commented on our wedding music selection so thought I would dedicate a blog post about it! Since we changed our date and our venue that saved us some serious $$$$, we decided we wanted to splurge on the entertainment because what is a party, without good music? What I found out is that my definition of “splurge” is very different than the booking...

Another Bouquet Idea - Felt Heart DIY
If the paper flower bouquet made from the pages of a romance novel from Etsy doesn’t work out, this felt heart bouquet is my second option. Who doesn’t love hearts?
I love the possibility of keeping my flowers after the wedding. I am not a very sentimental gal but I could definitely see this bouquet in a modern vase next to my bed side table for the next couple of years.
All I...

Invitations: Keeping With the Theme
I know, I know. ANOTHER post about invitations. Bare with me. I think this may be it. This is a learning process and there will be some hiccups along the planning process and this is one of them. I go back and forth on actually wanting to spend time and money on invitations to just wanting to stick a piece of paper in the mail and call it a day.
But, because I am a perfectionist and the little...

A Photography Nightmare: My Sister's Story
This is my sister’s story but I will try and summarize. Last year she got engaged and started planning her September 2010 wedding. She quickly got a date, booked a venue, a band, and a photographer. After lots of stress, she decided to ditch everything and elope to Chicago in April 2010. She canceled everything except her photographer because their work is amazing.

Product Review: OPI Romeo + Joliet
It has been a little over a month since I posted about Nailtique, the miracle polish. I haven’t noticed a big transformation in the overall look of my nails. That being said, I have not broke a single nail since I started using it. They are long and strong! :)
I recently borrowed an OPI nail polish from a co-worker and can honestly say, I am obsessed! It is called Romeo + Joliet, and I...

Guest Book: Another Great Idea
From my previous posts, I really really adore the polaroid film photo guest book. If by chance we end up getting a fun photo booth for our guests, it may be picture overload. In the unlikely event it happens, I may go with this lovely idea for our guest book.
Basically, we would provide postcards for our guests to write well wishes and advice on.
At the end of the night, the maid of...

Women's Wedding Band: Decisions. Decisions.
I came across this band on brilliantearth.com today. They specialize in conflict free diamonds. This little band is very elegant and beautiful. For a price tag of $1250 for white gold, I feel it is very reasonable.
My only hesitation in passing this on to Beetle and saying, “Pick this one. This one is it!” is that I have no idea how it will look with my engagement ring. Because...

Invitations: Keep It Simple
These invites are so very simple, clean, and classic. I LOVE them. For someone who claims not to care about my invitations, I realize that I spend a lot of time looking at them and I have a lot of different styles saved on my little computer.

The Untraditional Route
I am all about foregoing traditions. Especially if they don’t mean anything to you. Heck, there will be no father walking me down the aisle to “give me away,” there will be no cake cutting, bouquet toss, garter throwing, dollar dance, or speeches at our wedding. Phew!
But what I can NOT wrap my head around is JESSICA SIMPSON’s $100k Neil Lane Ruby Engagement Ring. What?...

A Little Shopping: Wedding Rings
Beetle and I went to Charleston Alexander on Saturday to look at wedding bands. We are jumping the gun a little in terms of the time frame but we have been thinking about it a lot so thought that we had nothing to lose by browsing their rings. Come to find out, if we want to get our rings where he got my beautiful engagement ring, we have to have them custom made. Of course! Hearing this made me...

A Little Shopping: Bridesmaid Dresses
Sister and I went shopping this weekend to get an idea for bridesmaid dresses. I am as lost as ever!
I ALWAYS said I wanted dresses for the girls that they can re-wear. If you are going to spend “X” amount of money on a dress for my wedding day, I want to make sure it is worth every penny and you can keep it in your closet. I was always in strong favor of J.Crew dresses. Classic....

Dogs In Weddings - Going too Far?
Including man’s best friend in your wedding could be a disaster! Or, it could be the best thing ever! I know it sounds crazy but my dogs (Penny Lane & Lukie) are the loves of my life! Why wouldn’t I want to include them in my special day with Beetle?
Before you think I fell off my rocker, I want to say that I don’t mean the actual ceremony! They are rescue dogs, after...

Hair Piece vs. Veil
Eek! I am really torn. From Day 1, I said “no way!” to a veil. They are expensive pieces of tool that I can do without. So, I have had my little eyeballs open for the perfect hair piece. For one, they are expensive. Two, it is impossible to know what it will look like on my little head since I have only seen them online.
When I come across beauties like this one from Ban.do at...

Guest Book - Polaroid Style
I am swooning. What an amazing idea. I would tweak this wonderful idea by adding a guest book that guests can sign next to the picture. Maybe we would get a few “artistic, personalized” pages? That could be fun!
Now, where to find a polaroid camera and film?

Wedding Shoes: Check
Yippee! I am squealing with delight here at my desk!! I just got Vivienne Westwood + Melissa Lady Dragon heels! With HEARTS! If you remember my post a few weeks back, I mentioned I wouldn’t stop until I got them. Well to be exact, I wanted to pearl ones with red hearts. BUT the blue hearts will perfectly compliment my “something blue.” Scented rubber 4 inch heels with cushioned...

BridalPlasty
I am sure by now you have heard of the new reality show coming out called BridalPlasty. The new series on E! premieres on November 28th and follows 12 brides-to-be competing for a different plastic surgery each week as they prepare to walk down the aisle. (cnn.com)
The Brides-to-Be make their plastic surgery “wish lists” before the competition begins and if they win, they get their...

Setting the Style
I pretty much have everything figured out for our wedding. Everything, except wedding colors. It’s pathetic, really. The easiest part of the process is the hardest part for me. I want black and white old hollywood glamour. Should I have an accent color to make it pop? If so, I love the color champagne. Especially for bridesmaid dresses BUT I can’t find any dresses that I like.

I Found My Man, But I Still Need My Girls
Introducing My Special Ladies, aka The Bridesmaids! You know, the ones who will help me pee while I am in my beautiful wedding dress. The Most Unbelievable House Hunting Experience
We are having the most unbelievable house hunting experience. I fell in love with this beauty at 808 Elm Avenue a few weeks back. Beetle wasn’t convinced it was “the house” for us so we kept looking. Then I convinced him to look at it again and he warmed up to it. By the time we were ready to write up a contract, the house was sale-pending. I was really bummed because this...
