{Twilight Love} Bella's Wedding Shoes

image

By now I am sure you’ve seen Breaking Dawn in theaters.  If you have, I know you saw Bella’s skyscraper heels. I was swooning and may or may not have cried a little when I saw them…seriously!

If you felt the same way and are looking for some killer shoes for your wedding, you can purchase these twilight inspired Manolo Blahniks at Neiman Marcus for $1295.00! You won’t get the exact shoes, created by Carolina Herrera, but the Monolo replicas are almost exact copies!

When You're Married...

When you’re married, you get away with a lot of things that normally wouldn’t fly in a relationship…like movie choices!  I’m a sucker for horror flicks while Beetle is the exact opposite!  He can not even watch the preview to a slasher film!

Since he is the account holder of our Netflix account, he was contacted that our {or should I say my} movie has been shipped! Something tells me he won’t be curling up on the couch with me on this one! Or any of the other 22 films I’ve added to the queue!

from where did you order your birdcage veil? I'd love a similar look without the feather and would be willing to make my own if I had instructions. Your sneak photo looked beautiful

Hi! I found my veil at AffordableElegance.com! They were awesome to work with and I received my veil a few days after purchasing. I then bought a second veil at a little accessory store in the mall (something like a Claire’s) because I liked the look of the brooch on it. I took both veils to my hair trial and we decided that we liked the brooch from the mall one but the netting on the one from AffordableElegance.com so we did some cutting and sewing and put the two parts of each that we liked together so it is a mix of both!

I’m not sure if you’ve seen these, but I found some great tutorials on how to make your own with materials at Michael’s Craft Store.  You can see them by clicking here and here!

Bella Swan+Edward Cullen = Married!

If those names don’t ring a bell, then you seriously need to catch up on pop culture! Like every tween & 40 year old who wishes she were still 20, I saw the “Breaking Dawn” film premiere! Bella’s {Kristen Stewart} and Edward’s {Robert Pattinson} wedding literally brought tears to my eyeballs! It was so dang beautiful!

I mean look at that aisle!

Their invitations were a little plain but I loved the wax seal!

image

No detail was spared from the movie! The ring, the handsome vampire groom, and her something blue/something old hairpiece that was a gift from her parents were all highlighted and got plenty of screen time!

image

Just wait until pictures of her dress surface! Am I the only one who thought it was a huge disappointment? I loved the details on the back but the front was just SO plain!  Not to spoil anything but the opening scene of the movie is a “dream” about her wedding and the dress she wears here is absolutely breathtaking! Like so breathtaking that I want to find it, buy it, and keep it in my closet so I can look at it every single day!

When Your Husband Is Annoying...

Yesterday was our two month wedding anniversary…yay!  We’ve almost made it longer than Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries! :)

All kidding aside, I have a little secret for you about marriage!

Marriage doesn’t change you!  Yes, I know it is hard to understand, but you did read that right! Your wedding ceremony is not some magical moment that will instantly get rid of bad habits and annoying behaviors!

If your handsome fiance’s idea of “date night” is Monday night football and chicken wings from Hooters, then you should not get mad at him when he becomes your husband and doesn’t cook you a gourmet meal to eat by candlelight with Mozart playing in the background!

People are who they are, despite marriage and a fancy, expensive wedding ceremony!  If your fiance has never touched a dirty dish in the sink, don’t expect him to magically know how to do the dishes after you walk down the aisle.  If he can’t hammer a nail into the wall, ask someone else to hang your beautiful wedding portraits because he won’t know how to do that either!

A marriage is not about him becoming your perfect husband! It is about compromising, choosing your battles, and living with all things that are annoying!

Wet, dirty towels will be left on the bathroom floor for you to pick up like you are his very own personal maid service.

image

Tshirts, socks, and boxers will become possessed and try to crawl out of his dresser drawers!

image

And those dishes? Yes, they will stay dirty and in the sink until you take it upon yourself to load them in the dishwasher.

image

At the end of the day, wives are annoying too! I know that changing my nail polish every other day and saying, “look at my nails!” makes Beetle want to pull his hair out and that if I ask him, “does this make me look fat?” one more time that he may get in the car without me but I am 100% sure that there are tons of other things that are annoying to him that I don’t even realize I am doing.

Because of marriage, we will have a lifetime to figure those things out and I couldn’t have wished for a better person to annoy me!

DIY How To: Fabric Menu Cards

image

Cost: $20

Materials Needed:

  • Fabric
  • Simple Cotton Canvas Fabric
  • Fabric Spray Glue
  • Scissors
  • Ribbon
  • Hole Puncher
  • Optional: Eyelets & Eyelet Puncher
  • Iron On Transfer Fabric for LIGHT fabric
  • Dinner Napkins
  • Iron
  • Home Printer

How To:

Prep: Create your menu design (there’s an Illustrator and Word template, as well as a JPG of the design I’m using, at the end of this post). Set up your printer to print as a “Mirror Image” (very important, otherwise, it will iron on backwards). Then print your design onto the iron-on transfer using your home printer.

Step 1: Cut both pattern and canvas fabric to a little larger than your desired tag size making sure there’s enough room to trim.

Step 2: Adhere the 2 pieces of fabric together with fabric spray glue. I like to use a Xyron machine (with Permanent Adhesive). Either way works!

Step 3: Iron the fabric to get wrinkles and any extra moisture out.

Step 4: While your fabric is cooling off, trim around the menu design that on the iron-on transfer.

Step 5: Then place the trimmed design (graphic side down) on the desired side of your fabric. Be sure to leave enough room around the sides and top to trim the shape of your tag later on.

Step 6: Iron the graphic for 45-55 seconds with strong pressure.

Step 7: Carefully and slowly peel off the graphic starting from one corner. Make sure to do this while it’s still hot – if it cools down, you might end up with bubbles.

Step 8: Using scissors, trim around the border. Be sure to leave extra height at the top of the Menu for the ribbon and tag shape. I like to do this by hand because I like the rustic feel, but if you want something more exact, you can make a template and trace the shape onto the fabric.

Step 9: To make the slanted sides of the tag, I gently fold the top of the tag in half and cut diagonally (this keeps both sides even).

Step 10: Cut straight across the top of the tag to desired height (if needed).

Step 11: Fold the top of the tag just like you did in “Step 9” and punch a hole about half an inch from the side (it should punch two holes since you folded the tag in half).

Step 12 (optional): I like to add eyelets to finish off the look, but it’s not necessary if you don’t have any eyelets on hand.

Step 13: Place ribbon through holes on each side.

Final Step: Tie around napkin, and Voila! You’re done!

Food: Resembling the Bride & Groom

I love the trend of making food resemble a bride and groom. It is such a silly concept but my eye always finds it and I can’t seem to get enough!
