Holy Hats!
My lovely sister has requested that guests wear hats to my Mad Hatter Tea Party Bridal Shower in July. Now that the Royal Wedding has aired, I think guests will be even more excited to don their outrageous hats.
Look at these that made an appearance on Abbey Road today! The nude hat on the right is amazing!

Quirky (if not, embarrassing) escort cards!
I have found the perfect escort cards for a small, intimate wedding! Especially if your group has a good sense of humor. With social media outlets, like Facebook, it would be easy to gather fun, cute, or embarrassing photos of your guests. With a little work on the computer, you can turn them into Polaroid-like pictures and display them on a magnet board! Talk about the table conversations...

A Wedding Reading: The Key to Love
by Anon, 1st Century BC, China
The key to love is understanding … The ability to comprehend not only the spoken word, but those unspoken gestures, the little things that say so much by themselves.
The key to love is forgiveness …. to accept each others faults and pardon mistakes, without forgetting, but with remembering what you learn from them.
The key to love is sharing … Facing your good...

Our Rainy Day Shoot
After purchasing four (4) umbrellas and waterproof mascara, I mentally prepared myself for our engagement pictures in the rain. After all the whining and complaining, I was actually (gasp) excited!
In short, we had a blast with our photographer, Anne Robert!! The shoot could not have gone any better. We were scheduled for a 2 hour shoot but when it was all said and done, it took 6 hours (Beetle...

Singing in the Rain
Rain! That is what is in the forecast tomorrow. Not just any rain, though! HEAVY rain and thunderstorms. Great. Why does it matter? I had the cutest “scene” planned for our engagement pictures with fun props to really show our personalities. Unfortunately, it will be impossible to pull off in the rain.
A quick Google search shows how beautiful pictures in the rain can be.

I'm Going to Be a Terrible Wife!
At least according to this 1930’s wife rating chart I will be a failure! Oh My!
Go ahead! Take a look! Would you pass?
Source via BoingBoing.net
I don’t like Kids. I can’t sew (even a button). I occasionally wear red nail polish.I am the nation’s best (or is it worst) back seat driver. I can’t even get through all the reasons I am a failure on this list.
The only...

Bridal Shower Invites: Alice in Wonderland Theme
I received the invite to my bridal shower in the mail and was delighted to see that I will be having an “Alice in Wonderland” themed bridal shower! What a great surprise! It is one of my all time favorite Disney movies and coincidentally, it will be hosted at one of my all time favorite bars in DC that is also Alice in Wonderland themed.
Here is the cute little invite -

My Biggest Mistake!
My biggest mistake during wedding planning was…
Signing the contract on the venue + catering for 80 - 90 people before I actually sat down and made the guest list.

Sounds like a really stupid mistake, right?
Let me explain: I knew I wanted a small wedding where our CLOSEST family and friends could celebrate with us. With a set budget like ours, you can either do A LOT with a...

Bridal Fitness Gone Awry!
source
Do you ever just feel like crying? No? Well I do today! I guess I will have to rent a sappy/sad movie tonight to work these tears out of my eyeballs!
I had a fine day at work. Beetle & I are having a sushi date night tonight and my workout is over with for the day. What could possibly be causing this feeling inside my body?
To have an honest moment, I am having a bad self...

Finding the Perfect Ketubah
Found on Etsy.com by NaomiBroudo.
Because Beetle & I are having a Jewish wedding, we need to spend some time picking out the perfect Ketubah. Simply stated, a Ketubah is a Hebrew marriage covenant. Historically, the Ketubah was a prenuptial agreement that protected the Jewish wife from falling on hardships should there be a divorce or the death of her husband. In modern times, it is a...

You're Engaged! Now, What?
Enjoy it! Take a deep breath, smile, and splurge on a great manicure! :)
Be prepared for the following:
1) The first thing out of someone’s mouth - “congratulations! Now, let me see the ring!”
(also be prepared for someone to ask, “how many carats is that?” and “did you pick it out yourself?” Just remember that in the excitement of an engagement...

Bridesmaid Statement Necklace: The Look for Less
As I search for jewelry for my girls to wear in September, I keep falling in love with pearl statement necklaces. Their long black chiffon dresses are elegant & classy, but somewhat plain so I want to spice up their look.
As I continue my search, I have the perfect lesson on shopping for the look for less!

Honeymoon Booked!
source
Hello Hawaii! Looks like Beetle got his wish and Hawaii is the special location for our Honeymoon!
How did it happen? And why so quick? Yesterday I saw that Travelzoo had tweeted about cheap rates to Hawaii that would sell out within 24 hours. So after the gym, I popped open the computer to check it out and at $411 (after taxes) per person roundtrip, we immediately hopped on-board....

Engagement Shoot - Two weeks away!
OMG! Our engagement shoot is two weeks away! TWO WEEKS! That means I need to spend crazy time at the gym so I can be in tip top shape, go to the tanning bed so I don’t look like a pasty ghost and get my hair done so I can be the blonde I so desperately want to be! Good bye dishwater blonde hair! Hello golden locks!
We met with our photographer over brunch on Saturday to discuss how the...
