Stealworthy Idea: Guest Favors
Still looking for the perfect guest favors? Well, I’ve found them and am green with envy that I never thought of this! This idea was seen on United with Love Blog and is the cutest favor idea in history.   This Old Town Alexandria bride set up a table where guests could pick out their own favor from a selection of vintage jewelry, baseball trading cards, old LPs, and other antiques! Robin...

DIY Idea: Wedding Decor
This cute little decor piece from AZCreativeStudio on Etsy.com would fit my wedding theme perfectly.  It is only $10.50 (sans easel), but it could be an easy, cheap DIY project if you wanted to tackle it!   These “silver” platters can be found at the Dollar Tree for $1.00/piece.  I also recently saw adhesive chalkboard paper there for $1.00/sheet.  Not sure where the easel can be...

Being a Bridesmaid Sucks!
No, not really! I actually LOVE being a bridesmaid.  It is such an honor to be selected to stand next to the bride on the most important day of her life!   BUT, being a bridesmaid is EXPENSIVE!  If you read the news and have any interest in wedding related things, you may have seen the article, The high cost of being a bridesmaid on CNN.com! The article states, “After adding up the cost...

The MadHatter Bridal Shower
I’m late, I’m late, for a very important date… The MadHatter Bridal Shower was a success! My sister, future sister-in-law, & soon to be mother-in-law made it so special! My sister created all the centerpieces - red splattered white roses (remember that part?), tea cup centerpieces, and the guest favors of personalized tea bags and sugar spoons! (SO CUTE!) The...

California Dreamin' from 3,000 Miles Away
I dropped Beetle and his 71 pound suitcase off at the airport this morning and it was such a sad/exciting moment! His suitcase held the contents of his life for the next two months while he lives his life as a Californian.

I will be left behind in DC to finish up wedding planning.  Coming from two people who have not spent more than 3 days apart since January 2008, this is going to be a challenge, which we have...

Hair Trial = Success!
I had my hair trial yesterday and it was a huge success! Hair by Jewels was simply amazing! I showed up sans picture and said, “You are the professional, work your magic!”  We went for a romantic, vintage style with a modern twist and this was the outcome. What do you think?

The Best Shoe Review Ever
I can’t stop Googling shoes! I want a fun pair for my rehearsal dinner and these won me over! They are just $79.95 at Nordstrom.com! I read the reviews to see if I should pull out the plastic and I saw the best shoe review ever… *In case you can’t see the small font, it says, “Beware—glitter does get everywhere (eg: my clothes, my hands, my uncooked pork chops).

The Bride's Processional
I am loving the idea of walking down the aisle to Catpower’s “Sea of Love.” The song is short and sweet and says just about everything I would want to whisper to Beetle as we stand hand in hand before our family and friends.

The 14 Day Manicure
I finally tried the CND’s Shellac polish, which is supposed to last for at least 14 days! Just like a regular polish job, Shellac is painted on with a base, two coats of color and a topcoat - though between layers, fingers are treated underneath ultraviolet lamp machines, so nails dry to an unsmudgable, hard and shiny finish.  The plus? I could immediately put my hands in my purse to get my...

Saying "YES!" to Wine
One my of best girlfriends is getting married next June!  She asked us to be her bridesmaids with custom wine bottles!  What a cute, creative way to ask!  It really made me feel so special! I love when brides pick non-traditional ways to ask her friends to share in her special day! Thanks Ash! I can’t wait to stand next to you on the most special day of your life!

The Facebook Wedding Invitation: Would You Ever?
I opened my Google Reader this morning to find a Facebook wedding invitation on Bridefinds.com! I am not “old fashioned!”  I mean, my fiancé and I embraced technology by sending an e-card and a...

Wiggin' Out for the Bachelorette Party
My Bachelorette Party is less than two weeks away!  My sister/maid of honor informed me that I need a wig for the girls’ night out, so I headed over to Judy’s Beauty in the Brentwood area of DC.   Good thing Beetle was there to document the fun!   Wig #1: The first wig I tried was blonde with black undertones.  The front was long with a thick bang, while the back was short &...

The Card Box - Don't Overlook This Detail
