Eyebrow Threading: The $15 Miracle
I have the entire week off of work to finish up last minute wedding details, run errands, and keep my stress level down. After I picked up my wedding dress, I headed to Threads in Bethesda, MD for a much needed eyebrow threading.   My mom was there to capture the action. If I am to be completely honest, it did make my eyes water. BUT, it is much better than tweezing and waxing.  For $15,...

Gentlemen, You May Smoke
One of the very last things I had on my “to do” list aside from getting our marriage license and picking up my wedding gown is to purchase cigars and cutters for our DIY cigar bar! I am happy to say I can check that off my list!  Yippee!  With a nice lady at a smoke shop outlet in Virginia, two free cigar cutters, and 20% off the total, I’m glad I kept this as one of the last...

Priscilla of Boston Closing Its Doors
Last week I learned that the high end bridal boutique, Priscilla of Boston,  will close its doors after 65 years in the industry! As it turns out, this is the bridal salon I got my bridesmaid dresses so I had to run (not walk) over to the salon to pick up the dresses for my girls sooner than expected. The company released this statement when the news broke… Source Personally, I am...

PhotoMingle: Changing the PhotoBooth Forever
Before you book that photobooth for your wedding, you should check out Photo Mingle!! It is seriously the coolest technology I have seen lately!  It is basically an Ipad version of a photobooth. I heard that it is priced considerably more than a regular photobooth but worth every penny! Here’s how it works:  Use the touch screen to capture your image.  View it. Write a message on it. Print...

The $0.01 Wedding Dress
Yes, you read that right!  This gal got a wedding dress at Nordstrom Rack for one measly cent!   We aren’t talking about any wedding dress.  It is a Jessica McClintock poly satin bustier gown with a sweetheart neckline that retails for $275! Just imagine! You go into a store and try on a wedding dress (for fun) and you see a tag that says one cent! Then imagine the store honors the...

Wedding Signage
One of the last projects I needed to knock off my to do list was signage for the wedding.  I found these vintage inspired frames at Marshall’s and snagged some white ones and black ones to display our signs. For $7 - $9 each, they ended up being perfect.  Not to mention the fact that I can reuse them in our San Fran condo to display pictures! I love recycling!

DIY Vintage Matchboxes
The day was spent making these fun matchbooks for our cigar bar. I have to admit, I put off buying custom made matchbooks because a) they are just another expense and b) I couldn’t make my mind up on a design. Then my sister had the brilliant idea of DIY-ing them. We bought these matches for $0.98/pack at Wal Mart.  A pack includes 10 matchbooks with 32 matches in each! What a steal! ...

rlv830 asked: Hi Wired Bride, my name is Becky and I am an avid follower of the "Wired Bride", I absolutely LOVE the blog! About a month ago you posted the personalized wine bottle labels that one of your girlfriends used to ask her bridesmaids to be in her wedding. I recently got engaged and I REALLY would like to use this idea but I can't seem to find the labels anywhere because I would like to...

The US President and My Wedding
It finally arrived!!!!  I got home late last night to find a beautiful note from the President and First Lady! Can you believe it? I sent one of our wedding invitations to The Obamas over on Pennsylvania Avenue and got a sweet card in return. In case you were wondering, the signatures are in ink! Like, with a pen! No stamped signatures here!:)
