    Honeyfund

Beetle & I sat down this weekend to discuss our honeymoon plans and unfortunately, we came to the conclusion that we simply can’t afford it.

My heart broke into a million little pieces because who doesn’t take a honeymoon?  We decided that WE WILL MAKE THIS HAPPEN!

For one, our social activities are on a serious lock down.  Aside from doing one big activity a month (weekend NYC trip this month, Chris Cornell concert next month, etc.), we will be entertaining ourselves in our 600 square foot apartment or finding free activities around the city to occupy our time.  In doing this, we will be able to contribute $75 - $150 per weekend that we would normally spend on a night out with dinner, drinks, and cab rides to our savings.

The second way we are going to make this happen is with honeyfund.com.  I spent the majority of today deleting items from our registries and setting up our honeyfund account.  We have lived together for over 2 years, which means we have the majority of the things we need for our house so this makes a lot of sense.

Here is what the site looks like:

I set up an account and designated gift contributions so guest can easily see what their money contributions will go towards.

We kept the Macy’s registry and the Amazon.com registry in case guests would rather give an actual gift, but my hope is that this honeymoon fund will be a big hit.
