On the Cheap: Wedding Gowns at Target

A recent article announced that Target is now selling wedding gowns. The prices are super budget friendly as the wedding gowns range from $99 - $129.99. With bridesmaid dresses around $70, it is an affordable option for your maids and matrons, as well!

I wonder if the gowns will follow the lead of other items at Target that have luxury fashion designers who launch a line at the store. If so, I hope Claire Pettibone is one of the first ones lined up! Even though I’m already married, I would purchase it and wear it to the grocery store if need be.

It’s been over three (3) months since the jeweler’s carelessness that has forced me to replace my un-repairable cracked diamond. I have seriously forgotten what it even looks like, which means I’m left to sit googly-eyed at my desk looking at this photo on the {Michael M.} website.

The good news is that I’ll have my ring back {someday} so that my little ring finger isn’t sitting here naked and plain. I just hope it is soon(er) rather than later.

There is a big debate in the bridal community on wedding day makeup that includes DIY vs Professional services, as well as Airbrush Makeup vs. Traditional Liquid Makeup. Because I am very much in the camp that you should hire a professional, I will stick to the debate on weather or not to go the airbrush makeup route.

What is it? At it’s basic, the airbrush makeup is special liquid foundation sprayed on your face with a makeup gun.

What does it do? It makes your skin look completely flawless. Also, it is sweat, cry, and smooch proof. With a 16+ hour wear time, it is the perfect choice for those brides who want to look picture-perfect well into the evening hours.

Quick Tip: With airbrush makeup, do not RUB your face. Always BLOT. Even though airbrush makeup is “waterproof,” you run the risk of rubbing a line that will not be fixable. So please, for your sake, just blot.

My Love for {Morganite}

I’ve recently had to say goodbye to my gorgeous engagement ring as it was declared damaged beyond repair during a prong repair at the jeweler. Now while we are left waiting to hear from the insurance company {thank goodness for ring insurance}, I am exploring my options.

If it were up to me, I would never ever ever ever ever ever own a diamond again in my life. I’ve explored man made diamonds but unfortunately they are limited in the carat size {as in, doesn’t go past 1.5 carats).

I’ve fallen in love with the rare morganite gem that is said to generate compassion, sympathy, empathy, and patience in those who wear it.

Unfortunately, I’m not sure I will be able to explore this option either as the limitations on insurance may force me to get another diamond, as a replacement. To me, it will be just that…a replacement.

Our rings were blessed by a rabbi at our wedding ceremony and carry so much love and special memories that it is truly irreplaceable.

Until we figure things out completely, I will continue to drool over these gorgeous morganite gems .

Holy Moly! I can’t stop looking at this wine box! Is it not the sweetest little gift you’ve ever seen? For $130 + the cost of 3 bottles of wine, you could gift this to your favorite couple to share on their anniversaries! I mean, who doesn’t love wine?

Knowing what I know now, I would have registered for some better gifts that are more suited for our lives. For instance, we love to entertain! We love hosting evening of food, cocktails, and fun for our close friends. In saying this it would seem natural that I would have registered for things that would make entertaining more fun, right? Well that just makes too much sense! During the registry process, I followed the lists provided for newly engaged couples, however I had already been “living in sin” for a few years and seemed to have the majority of items listed. Also I didn’t want to register for china because although traditional, I knew it would just sit somewhere gathering dust.

So, what I’m trying to say is this! I wish I had registered for things I really wanted, instead of what I thought I may need - like a mixer, which I still have not used!

If I had a registry redo, these would be my MUST HAVES from Red Envelope. The best part about it is that every single gift on this list is under $90!

Upon the initial moments of my search, I found this beauty - a leather cooler!

Considering the price tag of $887.57, the fact that I would want faux-leather, and that their tailgates will be put on hold to care for their new child, this doesn’t seem that appropriate after all!

I’m sure you’ve seen them online. I’m sure you’ve taken a second glance. And I’m also sure you thought, “how are they so perfectly round?”

I’m talking about Geronimo balloons.

These make the perfect fun party decor for a bachelorette shower, baby shower, or wedding! However, at $180 for the two shown in the above picture, it isn’t a very budget friendly option. even though it is sure to make a statement.

If that doesn’t seem like it is in your budget {because they are just balloons, after all} there is a more affordable option on Etsy, which sells for $30 each.
